Service Department

Stoves ‘n Stuff, Ltd. has an in house, factory trained service department. We service all products purchased from us and have since we opened in 1973.While we pride ourselves on the high level of care our service department provides, we remind our customers that the appliance that you have purchased is an alternative or backup heat source. It is sold to supplement your existing heat source. As such, we do not offer emergency service. Our service is offered on a first come, first serve basis.

During the heating season we can experience delays in service in excess of two weeks at times due to a high volume of service calls. The manufacturers recommend that you have your appliance serviced after each heating season by a factory trained technician to ensure your appliance is ready for the upcoming heating season. We do offer a discounted rate for off season cleanings and maintenance. You have the option of providing your email address where we would send a reminder or opt to be put on the mailing list to receive our yearly discount rates and specials.

We encourage all of our customers to familiarize yourself with your particular hearth product to ensure proper maintenance and prevent any unnecessary charges due to lack of  maintenance. Please refer to the troubleshooting guide located in your owner’s manual to help with any issues that may arise.

You are more than welcome to call the service department at any time to ask any service related questions you may have. For any basic operational questions we ask you contact your salesperson first. If they are unable to help they will refer you to the service department and we will do our best to answer your questions in a timely manner. Please note during the heating season it may take up to 24 to 48 hours to respond to your request.

Most manufacturer’s warranties, as listed in your owner’s manual, cover parts and labor but do not cover travel to the service location. Our policy here at Stoves n’ Stuff is to cover the travel fee for the first year. After the first year you will be responsible for a travel fee that is currently $65.00.

Our Current service rates are a $65.00 travel fee and $37.00 per half hour of labor beginning at time of arrival at the service site.

Many “not covered” under warranty service issues can be resolved by referring to the owner’s manual which is included with the product. Insuring that a gas valve is in the on position or a remote has working batteries are some examples of non-warranty work.

Cleaning of pellet stoves are required prior to a service call. We cannot diagnose and troubleshoot a dirty pellet stove. If a cleaning is necessary in order to work on your appliance you will be responsible for any cost involved for the cleaning. Stoves requiring a cleaning are not covered under warranty. If it is determined by the technician that the machine is in good working order and just needed to be cleaned thoroughly you will be responsible for the cost of the service call- $65.00 travel fee plus $37.00 per half hour of labor.
